I saw “different.” I would watch cartoons and Disney movies and believed “beauty” was reserved for those of a much lighter skin with straight hair. I had the opportunity to meet Brad and learn about his story when I started volunteering at Urban Peak – a non-profit in Denver, CO that provides a full convergence of services for youth ages 15 – 24 who are experiencing homelessness or at imminent risk of becoming homeless.
