63/100 || After plucking the petals off of my almost dead flower on Day 62, I started to think about other games you play as a child. What came to mind pretty quickly were all of the fortune games that we played when we were younger. Wondering if we would live in a mansion, apartment, shack or house! I could never make (or remember how to make) a “cootie catcher” in elementary school, so always had to depend on someone else to make them. Well, being in the age of technology, I decided that Day 63’s play would be learning how to do it! YouTube helped a girl out! ⠀
It really was a bit of a flashback – remembering doing it at recess – we could spend hours playing it and never got bored! I decided to make one that contains different BE Messages, so that when you ask it a question like, “How should I approach my disagreement with my boss?” it will give you a BE Message to use as a tool to think about approaching that question. Like BE Brave! It’s a different version of the 8-Ball (another childhood favorite)! ⠀
It made me realize how very trusting we are when we are younger. Really believing that our fortunes can be told to us through a paper origami game. How beautiful is that? Maybe as adults we could use a little more of that innate trust. Having fun with the questions and seeing the answers as a game or adventure to be discovered, versus a problem to be solved. I plan on keeping my new cootie catcher/fortune teller on my desk and referring to it from time-to-time to help direct my thinking and feeling! Plus – I made that shit all by myself!
