3/100: Be Upside Down

3/100 || Today’s play = cartwheel’s in the yard! Today I got my brother-in-love, @larkeycharms, to join me. The day leading up to this was consumed with working on my taxes, so needless to say – it was not the most playful day. I decided that I needed to do something that really flipped my day of sitting in front of my computer on its head. When I was younger, I LOVED gymnastics. Like, it was my most favorite thing. My parents like to tell the story that for a good while, I did not walk but did cartwheels from point A to point B. There really is something to flipping upside that makes you forget a day of troubles or worries…it is a unique and different way to see the world.

As it turns out – my cartwheel is not quite as good as it was when I was 9 years old! In my head my legs were straight up and when I saw the picture…not so much. Regardless, it really got my head out of thinking about expenses and receipts and government forms – and just made me laugh! It also reminded me of one of my very favorite children books, “Daft Bat,” by Jeanne Willis. If you have not read it – check it out…it is all about switching up how you see things…and being upside down may just be the trick!

Fun! And I have never read “Daft Bat,” so I’ll look for it when I’m back to my local library in two weeks. Thanks for the recommendation!
