James and Sarah Howat
Former Future Brewery
James was a high school science teacher. Sarah’s undergraduate degree was in marketing, and she was on track to being a counselor. Instead they made the decision to open a brewery that focuses on combining modern science and innovation with historic styles and traditions. James and Sarah are now spouses and business partners who combined their different skill sets and interests in order to make the transition to being small business owners. There is a competitive yet friendly brewery scene in Denver, and their story of how Former Future came to be adds a little extra flavor to their beer.

She then finished the chocolatier program at Ecole Chocolat in Montreal and earned the Master Chocolatier designation from Choco Scuola in Lecco, Italy.
