The Wisdom of a Child

anthro_let's play dress up

A friend’s child is highlighted in the short movie, Let’s Play Dress Up, on Anthropologie’s Blog, and while the video is sweet and beautiful, I was drawn to the amazing bios of each of the video’s stars. The simplicity of their answers are so wonderful that it reminded me that we lose so much through the growing up process. We become so much more self-conscious, and are too aware of others and what is socially acceptable. I love that when someone asks a two year old what she want to be when she grows up she says, “A pumpkin.” Because – why not?! I really might just have to borrow that response for the next time someone asks me what my future plans are! Their responses make me wonder what us grown ups can learn from their simple and honest responses. They might be playing dress up, but they have the right idea of what it means to be grown up!

Ack, I love this! So sweet, and so true. May we all be pumpkins when we grow up!
