“As an artist I’ve just learned over time that if you have an idea, you can find a way to make it.” – Nick Olson
Photographer, Nick Olson, and fashion designer, Lilah Horwitz, had a first date where they talked about how amazing it would be to have a house that was a wall of all windows so that “you would never have to be trying to fit the sunset into one little space.” So less then a year later they quit their jobs, went on a scavenger hunt for vintage and abandoned windows and made that simple dream their big reality. Their idea, story, journey and choice to make it all happen are all a resounding example that if you really want something badly enough, it is possible to bring it to life. It is just a matter of your want and desire to do it, your willingness to make some sacrifices or changes and your your determination to bring it all to fruition. There is nothing quite like the satisfaction of building something with your own two hands – whether it be a house with a wall full of windows for sunset viewing or a loaf a bread or a small business. Whatever it is that you choose to make or create, it will inevitably ensure, like a good sunset, that you are never contained into one little space.
